RUSTIC WEDDING AT ALNWICK TREEHOUSE

RUSTIC WEDDING AT ALNWICK TREEHOUSE

RUSTIC WEDDING AT ALNWICK TREEHOUSE

“EMILY WAS ONE OF THE FIRST (AND BEST) CHOICES WE MADE WHILE PLANNING OUR ALNWICK TREEHOUSE WEDDING, SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC AND GAVE US PHOTOS THAT WE LOVE. HER CALM, FUN, AND PROFESSIONAL NATURE ALSO PUT US AT EASE ON THE DAY, AND WE FEEL LIKE WE MADE A GREAT FRIEND IN THE PROCESS.THE PERFECT CHOICE”

Emily and Mike got married in spring at the rustic Alnwick Treehouse at Alnwick Gardens, which is a stunning venue, perfect for weddings.  It’s next to Alnwick Gardens in Northumberland. It was such a happy day and even the weather played ball!

Getting ready

Emily got ready in Embleton with her mum and bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was full of excitement.  Embleton is just down the road from Alnwick Treehouse.  Emily’s Dad arrived and was amazed at how beautiful she looked in her dress! The girls then rode the short distance to get to the ceremony in Emily’s Dad’s Mercedes.  The ceremony was at Holy Trinity Church in Embleton. Mike got ready with his Groomsmen and then headed to the Church to get some fun shots together before the guests arrived.

The ceremony was a beautiful service in the tiny Holy Trinity church in Embleton. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so emotional and so beautiful. There was plenty of confetti throwing afterwards, which always makes for fab photos!

The reception – Alnwick Treehouse

The reception was just a short drive away from Embleton at the venue. They chose Alnwick Treehouse at Alnwick Gardens because it’s so cosy and relaxed and they just love it there. It was a rustic wedding, which was so relaxed. I love shooting Alnwick Treehouse weddings because the surroundings are just incredible. There really isn’t anywhere like it!I just love how quirky it is!  Emily and Mike made the most of the treehouse, we took some lovely photos on the rope bridge amongst the trees!

They had a cocktail drinks reception in the afternoon, and an intimate family dinner in the evening. They decorated the treehouse with flowers and fairy lights, making it so cosy.

For dinner they had proper wedding grub, which was absolutely delicious. The open fire was roaring and the fairy lights were twinkling, it was so magical! The first dance was a romantic slow dance, and they finished off the evening with friends piling on the dance floor to bust out the moves.

Emily wore a gorgeous dress from Marimme Bridal in Jesmond and Mike wore a dapper Ted Baker suit and they looked so gorgeous. Emily’s flowers were so colourful they looked amazing and Mike’s buttonhole was a flower and a cute penguin pin badge because he’s a Geologist.

The couple met at University and have been together for 6 years. They got in touch with me after we met at a wedding fair and their enquiry was really touching. They said they wanted a photographer who would be like a guest, and I loved that they were so relaxed.

Emily and Mike’s wedding was everything I love about weddings.  It was so full of love and laughter and so laid back. Here’s their rustic Alnwick Treehouse wedding!

Crear Wedding – Angela and Stuart

Crear Wedding – Angela and Stuart

If you love beaches and bagpipes you’ll love this Crear wedding!

What an amazing place this is! On the West coast of Scotland, Crear is a little gem of a wedding venue. Angela and Stuart brought all their family and friends to this magical place for a truly wonderful day.  Guests were led down to the beach by a piper playing bagpipes.  Their ceremony was held on the beach, it was super laid-back and fun, and the weather even played ball.  Stuart and Angela had written their own personal vows, and they had added their own personal touched to the venue.  The whole day was such a good laugh, and the evening kicked off with an amazing Ceilidh!  I came along to help out my pal Jade from Gasp Photo Co, I love a good old road-trip, especially if there’s an epic wedding at the end of it!! Here’s a few of my faves from the day…

DIY FESTIVAL WEDDING AT SUMMERHILL BOWLING CLUB NEWCASTLE – HANNAH AND AIDEN

DIY FESTIVAL WEDDING AT SUMMERHILL BOWLING CLUB NEWCASTLE – HANNAH AND AIDEN

“THE PICTURES CAPTURE OUR DAY SO WONDERFULLY. EMILY SEEMED TO BE EVERYWHERE – EVEN RISKING LIFE AND LIMB TO GET CEILIDH ACTION SHOTS!”

Hannah and Aiden got married in spring at the beautiful Summerhill Bowling Club, which is a quirky old Bowling Club in Newcastle city centre. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and even the weather played ball!

The ceremony was a beautiful service at St George’s Church, Jesmond. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so meaningful and so personal.

The reception was across town at the Summerhill Bowling Club, Newcastle. They chose Summerhill Bowling Club because it’s so cosy and relaxed and they just fell in love with it. It was a DIY Festival themed wedding, which was so much fun. I love shooting Summerhill Bowling Club weddings because it’s just so so relaxed. Who knew such a quirky little place existed so close to Newcastle city centre!?

They had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and a Celidh band in the evening. They decorated the venue with bunting and flowers, because it fitted in with their relaxed festival vibe.

For dinner they had proper wedding grub, which was absolutely delicious. The first dance involved the wedding party getting on the dancefloor to get the dancing going, and they finished off the evening with a ceilidh.

The most fun part of the day was the afternoon reception, because they had so many fun games for everyone to play. They also did a ceilidh during the party – it was brilliant fun!

Hannah and Aiden’s wedding was so laid back and so much fun. Here’s their gorgeous wedding!

RELAXED MARQUEE WEDDING AT CRINNIONS IN LANCHESTER, COUNTY DURHAM – GEMMA AND MARTIN

RELAXED MARQUEE WEDDING AT CRINNIONS IN LANCHESTER, COUNTY DURHAM – GEMMA AND MARTIN

RELAXED MARQUEE WEDDING IN LANCHESTER

IF YOU LOVE HAVING A GOOD OLD KNEES-UP WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS THEN YOU’LL LOVE THIS RELAXED MARQUEE WEDDING!

Gemma and Martin got married at the impressive St Joseph’s Church in Stanley, and then headed to Crinnions in Lanchester, County Durham, in July. It was a relaxed marquee wedding, with tealights on the tables and flowers as the main decor.

Getting ready

Gemma got ready at her house with her bridesmaids, flower girls and paige boy, and there was such a happy vibe. Lots of excited young flower girls and boys. She wore a gorgeous dress from Wed2B in the Metro Centre, and looked so incredible. She then hopped into a fancy wedding car to get to the ceremony.

The ceremony

The ceremony took place in a beautiful church in Stanley. The ceremony was inside the Church, which was just stunning, with personal touches like readings from the children and Gemma’s brother. The ceremony began with Gemma being walked down the aisle by her little boy, and finished with the happy newlyweds walking down the aisle and being showered with colourful confetti. It was a beautiful ceremony, full of excited hand squeezes and nervous giggles.

After the ceremony, we travelled to the reception, which was really chilled out. Then the couple mingled with their guests, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. I got some lovely guest photos as they enjoyed the afternoon – There were some amazing-looking gins coming back from the bar! The weather was so hot and sunny, with the odd thundery downpour – which didn’t cool things off whatsoever!!!, but it was a beautiful day.

The reception

Gemma and Martin chose to have their relaxed marquee wedding at Crinnion’s because it’s so cosy and relaxed, and it’s near their home. Crinnion’s is an understated pub, and it’s got such a stunning back garden you wouldn’t know was there – complete with a marquee! It was perfect, especially at sunset when the golden sun is glowing.

For the reception, the couple wanted a super chilled-out vibe, and everyone loved it – drinks in the sunshine – perfect!  Everyone was then called in for the wedding breakfast. They had speeches before the meal, which were so emotional – plenty of tears and laughter.

The party

After dinner, everyone had some cake, and the evening got started. The live band kept the party going all night.

The evening ended with Jagerbombs all round, which was so much fun. The whole relaxed marquee wedding was so laid back, from the beautiful vows to the last dance. One of the best moments of the wedding was the dancing, because everybody let their hair down. The relaxed vibe was also a talking point of the wedding – it was exactly as Gemma and Martin had planned it!

I loved this Crinnion’s wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a relaxed wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!

RELAXED FARM WEDDING IN LANCHESTER, COUNTY DURHAM – JODIE AND ANDREW

IF YOU LOVE HAY BALES, WILDFLOWERS, FISH AND CHIPS AND ICE CREAM THEN YOU’LL LOVE THIS RELAXED FARM WEDDING!

Jodie and Andrew got married at the tiny St John’s Church in Elton, and then headed to their own farm near, Lanchester, County Durham, in July. It was a wonderful relaxed farm wedding, with wildflowers on the tables and bunting as the main decor.  It was a very special wedding with celebrations on two days.  The first day was the Ceremony and a relaxed reception at their farm, and the second day had more of a party vibe at Wolsingham Show ground.

The couple met through the Young Farmers and have been together for about ten years. They are just the loveliest people.

Getting ready

Jodie got ready at her mums house in Stockton with her bridesmaid, flower girls and paige boy, and there was such a happy vibe. Lots of excited young flower girls and boys. She wore a gorgeous dress from Just Perfect in Shotton Colliery, and looked so incredible. She then hopped into a friends decorated car to get to the ceremony.

Andrew got ready at home in Lanchester with his brother who was Best Man. He wore a dapper suit, and looked really handsome. He travelled to the ceremony with his Best Man.

The ceremony

The ceremony took place in a beautiful church in Elton, near Middlesbrough. The ceremony was inside the tiny Church, which was so perfect, because it made it so cosy. It began with several beautiful readings from friends and family, and finished with a sweeping first kiss. It was a beautiful ceremony, full of excited hand squeezes and nervous giggles.

After the ceremony, we went for couples portraits near the farm in Lanchester, which is such a great time for the newly married couple to have some time to let it sink in. Then the couple mingled with their guests, which was really chilled out. I got some lovely guest photos as they enjoyed the afternoon – Having the reception back at their farm added to the relaxed atmosphere! There were hay bales, bunting and flowers and the couple had put up a marquee in front of their house. The weather was all sunshine and blue skies, it was a beautiful day.

The reception

Jodie and Andrew chose to have their wedding at their own farm near Lanchester because it’s their family home, and they’ve always dreamed of getting married at home. It is an old farm, and it’s got such a rustic and relaxed vibe, especially at sunset when the golden sun is glowing.

For the reception, the couple had organised an ice cream cart and lawn games for their guests, and everyone loved it. Everyone was then called in for the wedding breakfast, which was Fish and Chips, served from a van. It was such a great idea. They had speeches before the meal, which were so emotional – plenty of tears and laughter.

Guests then chilled out on the hay bales well into the warm summer evening.

The party

The next day, down at Wolsingham Show Ground, more friends and family arrived, everyone had some cake, and the evening got started. The live band kept the party going all night.

The evening ended with a ‘last dance’, which was awesome. The whole wedding was so laid back, from the tiny little church service to the last dance. One of the best moments of the wedding was the afternoon reception, because Jodie and Andrew looked so happy and relaxed amongst all their family and friends. The outfits were also a talking point of the wedding – because Jodie had another epic wedding dress for the evening of the second day. This was a very special wedding held over two days, which was such a great idea.

The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is spread the celebrations out over two days to double the fun!

I loved this farm wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a relaxed wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!

Emma and Richie got married in July at the lovely Horton Grange, which is an old country house in Northumberland. It was such a happy day and the sun shone all day long!

The outdoor ceremony

The ceremony was a legal ceremony in the grounds of the venue. out in the gardens, and the guests sat on wooden chairs dressed with red sashes, with the sun shining down. During the ceremony a string quartet played. It was so emotional and so beautiful.

After the ceremony

The reception was in a beautiful room at the venue. They chose Horton Grange because it’s so cosy and relaxed and they just fell in love with it. It was a laid-back wedding, which was so chilled out and fun. I love shooting Horton Grange weddings because it’s always so intimate. The option of an outdoor ceremony is really special too.

They had a drinks reception in the afternoon, and a caricature artist, magician and candy floss machine in the evening. It was such a fun vibe getting entertained by the magician, seeing everyones funny caricature portraits and eating candy floss! The most fun part of the day was the afternoon reception, because it gave the day a lighthearted mood.  It was so perfect chilling outside in the sunshine, watching magic tricks and eating candy floss!! They also had string quartet during the ceremony – it was so personal!

They decorated the venue with flowers and tealights, because it worked so well with the time of year.

For dinner they served a roast dinner, which was loved by all the guests. The first dance involved the wedding party getting on the dancefloor to get the dancing going, and they finished off the evening with a ‘last dance’.

The couple

The couple met on a night out through a mutual friend and have been together for three years. They got in touch with me after we chatted at the Biscuit Factory Wedding Fair and their enquiry was really touching. They said they wanted a photographer who would be like a guest, and I really liked that they were so relaxed. I blummin’ love these two!!

The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is to make sure the wedding planner at the venue you have picked keeps you up to speed with what’s happening and ask them to give you a timeline of what needs to be sorted when.

Emma and Richie’s wedding was everything I love about weddings and had such a fun atmosphere. Here’s their Horton Grange wedding!
