AN INTIMATE, COVID-19, BISCUIT FACTORY WEDDING

If you love intimate, laid-back weddings, wild dried florals, graffiti, and flicking two fingers at Covid-19, you’ll love this Newcastle Biscuit Factory wedding!

Ruth and Ricci got married on Saturday at The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle, just before the second Covid-19 lockdown. It was such a happy day, with only 15 guests, made for a really intimate celebration.

First look

The wedding ceremony wasn’t until 4pm, so they decided on a “first look” before the official bit.  This was great because it meant we could do some brilliant couples portraits near the Biscuit Factory, along the cool urban areas of the Ouseburn in Newcastle. Think graffiti walls, railway arches and cool street art.  We had some great sun light too, before it got too dark!

The ceremony

The ceremony was an intimate affair in the Biscuit Factory Art Gallery.  There were only 15 guests allowed, and everyone had to wear face masks.  Sitting amongst the works of art with the sun streaming in thought the industrial windows, Ruth had decorated the table with trendy dried boho florals and grasses, it was so magical!  The ceremony was short due to the Covid-19 restrictions, but very emotional all the same.

The reception

They had a cosy meal downstairs in the Biscuit Factory, with a few informal speeches beforehand.  The table decorations looked fabulous, with candles and more dried florals.  It was divine.  The happy couple downed some shots with their guests, and then tucked in to their meal.

The couple

Ruth wore an epic silver dress from The Vampires Wife and Ricci wore a dapper suit from Hugo Boss and they looked so perfect. Ruth’s dried flowers looked amazing too.

The couple met outside a bar in Tynemouth and have been together for 8 years. They got in touch with me after they said they wanted a relaxed photographer, who wouldn’t take over their day.  They were most excited about celebrating with their closest family and friends.

Ruth and Ricci’s intimate Biscuit Factory wedding was everything I love about urban weddings and had such a fun atmosphere. Here’s their stunning intimate wedding!

2019 – End of Year Slideshow

2019 – End of Year Slideshow

Here we go with my end of year review slideshow for 2019!

Fun and laughter play a huge part in my wedding photography.  A lot of my couples who book me, do so because they want a laid-back approach to their wedding photography.  They want someone to capture the day as a whole, all the big bits, but also the little bits in between!  I think this end of year slideshow portrays how I work to capture all the fun and happiness I see at weddings!

Thank you to all the amazing couples who have booked me to shoot their weddings this year!  It’s been an honour, one which I don’t take lightly!  Thank you for trusting me and allowing me to get on with doing my thing, while you get on with doing yours!!  I hope you love the moments I’ve captured for years and years to come.

I’ve been to venues and back-gardens all across Newcastle, the North East, Northumberland, Dumfries, Durham, Tuscany and North and West Yorkshire this year.  I’ve loved every second.

I’ve had such a fantastic year, and I’ve really enjoyed making this slideshow and re-living all those precious moments.  I really do love my job, and because I only take on a limited number of weddings each year, that means I can give my couples the best service they deserve.

It’s been REALLY hard choosing from so many epic moments I’ve photographed over the last 365 days, so this slideshow is just a fraction of the many, many images that have made me smile (and sometimes laugh out loud) behind the camera as I see them happen in front of me!

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Yorkshire Wedding Barn Winter Wedding – Becca and Adam

Yorkshire Wedding Barn Winter Wedding – Becca and Adam

If you love winter barn weddings, laughing until you cry with your best mates and dancing on the tables then you’ll love this Yorkshire wedding!

Becca and Adam got married in December in the rustic Yorkshire Wedding  Barn, which is a beautiful barn in North Yorkshire.  It was such a chilly frosty happy day but the singing and dancing on the tables soon got everyone warmed up!

Getting ready

Becca and Adam got ready at the Yorkshire Wedding Barn, and the atmosphere was full of excitement.  Becca and the girls got ready in a gorgeous room above the ceremony barn, while Adam and the boys were in one of the cosy cottages so they didn’t see each other.  Becca had plenty of champagne and laughs with her bridesmaids. Adam had a few beers with the boys in the hot tub before heading along to the ceremony barn.

The ceremony

The ceremony was a festive, Christmassy affair in the barn.  During the ceremony the winter sun was shining in and the fairy lights on the tree were twinkling, it was so magical!  Special family members read some readings. It was such a personal service and so beautiful. There was plenty of fake snow confetti throwing afterwards, which always makes for fab photos!

The reception

They had a cocktail drinks reception in the afternoon, with canapés.  In the evening, there were tasty wraps and chips! They decorated the venue with glittery Christmas decorations, cute miniature Christmas trees and tea lights, because it worked so well with the time of year.  The tables were named after the twelve days of Christmas, which they all sang at the tops of their voices with the North East Singing Waiters, which was absolutely hilarious!

For dinner they had a slap up meal, fillet steak, sausages and chicken cooked outside on the giant BBQ which was absolutely delicious! The first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle, after a funny game of Mr and Mrs. and they finished off the evening with a live band and dancing.

The couple

Becca wore a gorgeous Maggie Sottero dress from Victoria Robson Bridal in Northallerton and Adam wore a dapper tweed Marc Darcy suit from Dandy Threads in Guisborough, and they looked so perfect. Becca’s flowers were from The Flower Studio in Richmond and they looked amazing.

The couple met on Tinder and have been together for 4 years. They said they wanted a laid-back photographer who would be great at capturing the day as a whole.

Becca and Adam’s wedding was everything I love about weddings with an amazing electric fun atmosphere… Here’s their stunning wedding!
