Anne-Marie and Dan got married in June. They had their back garden wedding, at their beautiful house near Leeds, Yorkshire. The decor was rustic, with a DIY vibe and looked perfect for the surroundings. It was such a relaxed and intimate day and even the weather played ball!
Anne-Marie and Dan got ready at home, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. Anne-Marie got ready upstairs in their family home, while Dan, the boys and family helpers put the finishing touches to the garden.
The intimate back garden wedding ceremony
The wedding ceremony was an intimate affair in the back garden. There was a small marquee at the bottom of the garden. Anne-Marie and Dan read their own vows. There were beautiful readings from friends and family. To everyone’s surprise, an owl came swooping down the aisle to deliver the rings!! During the ceremony they had all the guests pass their rings around to warm them. It was such a personal service and so beautiful. There was plenty of confetti throwing afterwards, which always makes for fab photos!
Celebrant led ceremony
Having a Celebrant to lead your ceremony certainly adds a personal and magical touch. All the legal bits had been done the day before at the registry office. Anne-Marie and Dan had chosen meaningful and personal vows, and the special readings and ring-warming made the ceremony so memorable.
The relaxed reception
The reception was out in the garden on the patio of their home. They chose back garden because they’ve got such a beautiful back garden. It was a relaxed and intimate wedding, which was so beautiful. I love shooting back garden weddings because they’re always so chilled. It’s always so relaxing when you’re surrounded by your nearest and dearest at home.
Personal touches to make the back garden wedding so magical
They had a cocktail drinks reception in the afternoon, and an intimate family dinner in the evening. They decorated the venue with flowers, candles and fairy lights, which looked so romantic! There was a memory tree picture for guests to stamp their fingerprints and add meaningful messages. The children enjoyed having their faces painted. Also, Anne-Marie and Dan planted an oak tree to remember absent loved ones. It was so beautiful.
An amazing wedding planner for a back garden wedding
Sian at Chaplin Events worked her magic and helped create this magical wedding. From booking suppliers, to co-ordinating the schedule, Sian can also be seen carrying tables and hairs around to help with the set up. The tiny details she has thought about can be seen everywhere in my photos of the day.
For dinner they had proper wedding grub, washed down with fine wine, which was absolutely delicious. The open fire was roaring and the fairy lights were twinkling, it was so magical! The first dance was a romantic slow dance, and they finished off the evening dancing away to some brilliant disco tunes.
Anne-Marie and Dan’s wedding had such a chilled vibe and just the happiest occasion. Here’s their gorgeous relaxed and intimate back garden wedding!
