Newcastle Engagement Shoot – Mike and Emily

Newcastle Engagement Shoot – Mike and Emily

A gorgeous, winter engagement shoot in Jesmond Dene, Newcastle.  As part of my wedding photography package, I offer an engagement shoot.  I like to get to know my couples.  If you’re like me, and a little bit nervous and awkward in front of the camera, having an engagement shoot is the perfect way to relax and have fun!  Engagement shoots are an ideal way to get used to being photographed before the big day.

Mike and Emily chose me because of my relaxed style. They knew as soon as they arrived in Jesmond Dene, that I wasn’t going to force them into awkward poses or cheesy stances.  I rather ask that couples are themselves.   So, we had a wander about, exploring the pathways in Jesmond Dene.  Mike and Emily very quickly got into the swing of being photographed, and they relaxed completely.  We got some hilarious photos of the two of them laughing and joking around.  Having fun as they do normally.  It was quite late in the afternoon when we met, and with it being winter, the sun set really quickly!  Boy!  It got dark really quickly too; but that made for some beautiful atmospheric photos at sunset along the Armstrong Bridge!

Mike and Emily have chosen me to be their north east wedding photographer, for their wedding at the Alnwick Treehouse in Northumberland next year.  Alnwick is a beautiful location, just north of Newcastle, and I can’t wait to be their wedding photographer – I think it’s going to be a gorgeous wedding!

If you are like Mike and Emily, and would like to book me for an engagement shoot or a relaxed wedding, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Rachael and Graeme got married at the lovely Acklam Hall, Middlesbrough, on May 19th, the same day as the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. It was a wonderful relaxed wedding, with china tea cups on the tables and pretty pastel pinks as the colour scheme.

Getting ready

Rachael got ready at her parents house in Tollesby, Middlesbrough with her bridesmaids, and there was such a happy vibe. Lots of excited tears from everyone! She wore a gorgeous dress from Butterflies in Thornaby, and looked so stunning. She then hopped into a fancy wedding car to get to the ceremony.

Graeme got ready at his parents house in Marton, Middlesbrough, with his little dog all dressed up for the occasion wearing a smart bow tie! Graeme wore a dapper suit, and looked really handsome. He travelled to the ceremony with his Best Man.

The ceremony

The ceremony took place in St Cuthberts their local church in Marton. The ceremony area was inside the tiny Church, which was so perfect, because it made it so cosy. The ceremony began with everyone singing their favourite song, and finished with a sweeping first kiss. It was a beautiful ceremony, full of excited hand squeezes and nervous giggles.

After the ceremony, we travelled to the reception, which was really chilled out. Then the couple mingled with their guests, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. I got some lovely guest photos as they enjoyed the afternoon – After that we snook off to get some lovely couples portraits. The weather was all sunshine and blue skies, it was a beautiful day.

The reception

Rachael and Graeme chose to have their wedding at Acklam Hall because it’s near their home, and it’s so cosy and relaxed. Acklam Hall is an old former school, and it’s got such a romantic vibe, especially at sunset when the golden sun is glowing.

The party

After dinner, guests played in the photobooth, and the evening got started. The live band played all the best songs to get everyone dancing.

I loved this Acklam Hall Wedding wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a relaxed wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!

Saltburn engagement shoot – Sam and Craig

Saltburn Engagement Shoot by north east wedding photographer.

Sam and Craig chose lovely Saltburn beach for their engagement shoot.  Its a place they often go.  So it seemed like the obvious choice for a relaxed and fun engagement photo shoot.  Let’s face it, it is a bit weird having your photo taken!  That’s why I love meeting couples before the big day for a practice shoot.  We have a bit of a laugh, go for a wander wherever the mood takes us.  And all the nerves about being in front of the camera soon disappear.  Its great on the wedding day when we can just pick up where we left off, and capture some amazing images of the two of you together.  I was amazed with the new funky coloured beach huts they have along Saltburn promenade, they look so cool!  The beach is amazing and there’s an old Pier too!

Sam and Craig are an amazing couple and I can’t wait to be their north east wedding photographer.  They’re having an outdoor hand-fasting ceremony at Ormesby Hall near Middlesbrough at the weekend!!!  I think it’s going to be an epic wedding!

If you’re a fun, relaxed couple like Craig and Sam and would like to book me for an engagement shoot or a wedding, please get in touch!!
